His Belated Birthday Present ♥

Finally, after thinking hard & deep of what 2 get for Sham's birthday, I've finally decided to get him an external hard disk. Firstly, planned nk buat surprised, kind 2 think about it, i'd better reveal it due 2 several consequences, such as - when it comes to computer thingy - i just leave everything to him since he's better of it. Takut nanti, planned nak buat surprised but i might be the one yang surprised!!!

Thank goodness i told him 'my niat suci' hahahhaha... Coincidently, he was planning to get one, too... Fhewwww....

So after searching high n low, up & down from Cineleasure to Low Yat Plaza, he decided 2 setlled on this one known as Buffalo MiniStation USB Hard Drive. Its 320GB uols... Double of mine.. Got it from Thunder Match, Low Yat Plaza.

One good thing about this brand is, it is 'anti-shock'. Therefore, it's protected even it dropped. But apparently, its very the 'tebal'... ekekkekeeke :)

Besides anti shock, it's speed is also amazing. Just have a look at the comparison below :

Buffalo's own speed comparison chart.

Garage Sale

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia :
A garage sale, also known as a yard sale, rummage sale, tag sale, attic sale, moving sale, or junk sale, is an informal, irregularly scheduled event for the sale of used goods by private individuals, in which "block sales" are allowed, so that sellers are not required to obtain business licenses or collect sales tax.

Lately, my parents in laws have this craze of checking out Garage Sales in Klang Valley. Been wanting to join them but didn't get the chance to do so. Most of the time was because Sham would rather be sleeping than checking out these places. Haruslerrr, malam xtido, check out football matches n spent time with PS2.... Errghhhhhhhhhh.........

Due an 'offer' he couldn't resist, we managed to follow then to checked out a garage sale held at a resident in Bandar Utama.

All i can say is - not too bad. But u've got to be smart in choosing the stuff. It actually depends on the stuff they wanted to sell... U've got to be persuasive in bargainig too - which my Mum n Dad in law in really good in doing so - but not Sham, seriously...

I got this skirt for only RM 10. Still new, price tag x buang lagi... Actual cost was RM 79.00, mark down to RM70.00...

Finally we managed to get several stuff. The green mengkuang bag is new... Got it for RM2 (believe it or not). It used it to carry my botol air to work, planning nk buat handbag, but then nt ada lak yg kata bakul ular la, bakul scofield lorrr... Mula la nk carik seruling bagai... LOL.... u know who u r... but u made my day la... Mwahhhsssx...

Sham got the lappy bag for only RM15. X guna lagi. Its just that the design is quite obsolete. But its BELKIN - quite branded gaks... Then he got scolding not bagaining. So, he actually checked out the original price at Cineleasure - and its RM 100 plus... Gigih sgt...

The bakul - RM 10.00 for both
Water jar - RM 1.00
Brown Rice RM2.00 (xbukak lagi)

All in all, i could say that Garage Sale is great. But u've got to be smart in purchasing. Btw, it depends on luck too, if the goods that thay decided to sell is cool, then u're lucky - n vise versa...

Flaming Steamboat Moments

outlet : Flaming Steamboat Buffet
tel :
603-5633 6820
address :

124, Jln PJS 11/2, Spectrum Shops (facing NPE Expressway between Sunway Pyramid & Esso Station)
46150, Selangor

One of the best steamboat i've ever tasted. The reason y m saying this is simply because the price and the wide range of selection. Its simple worth the amount u pay. It only cost RM 19.90+ that make it around RM 22.00 per person.

It has quite a good selection of seafood. My favorite are boneless fish fillet, crabs, prawns, n bamboo shells (known as AMBAL in Sarawak)... The variety of fish balls n such are tremendous too... But i don't advice taking lots of fish ball as there quite filling n u might as well eat the fresh seafood instead of the processed ones.

The selection of vege...

Besides steamboat items, there's also other items such as fried rice, meehoon, potato wedges, fried wanton n much more. To me, try 2 avoid taking all these... rugi uols... Might as well concentrate on the seafood items...

Beverage counter...

The wide selection of sauces...
Siap ada kuah kacang lg...
Lyn, ada cili padi - u sure suker, kalu i, letak cili padi dlm sup terus LOL
N i love the special chili sauce...

Our 1st round... Hahahahaha...

There are 2 type of soup : clear & tom yam - as usual

My favourite / wajib item :
Crabs n prawns, bamboo shell, Fish fillet (yummy) n a type of fucuk (x sure of the - i call it 'papan')...

As much as i love crabs n prawns, I hate the 'meng-kupas' part... Thank goodness i have him to do all those 'peeling' part... hehheheh... Then he will gather all the isi together n i just consume it... sedap sgggttttsss.... But i wonder how if i were to go there without him... sob sob... :(

The highlight of the dessert is simply the chocolate fountain. It is served with crackers, marshmallows, but i ate with fruits... The ice cream is also an attraction...

What a coincidence when i actually bumped with Nad Rainbow... She was having dinner with her family, having a birthday celebration. "Kak Amy, kitorg mmg selalu makan sini especially kalu ada birthday sebab food dia best n byk n harga ok"...

With Nad & her brother... So chumellls like her...
Yup Nad! akak pun dah addicted mkn flamings dah...

Well, some people may have another opinion about this place n found other place better than Flaming. Some says x sedap la, seafood xfresh la n much more. Different people has different opinion. Should u find this place unsatisfactory, please don't kill me...

But it's just my opinion. Furthermore, it's reasonable n not 2 far from home. Will check out other steamboat outlets n blog abt it later.

A piece of advise should one decides to check out Flamings :

~ do make prior booking

~ avoid coming on a weekend - massive crowd. U'll feel more relaxed on a weekday. Friday? m x sure...

~ do request for a seat indoor instead of outside. The stove is different as they use electrical hotplate inside n normal stove outside. Its easier to control the hotplate than the normal stove.

Tahina / tahini from Sudan

tahini
a thick Middle Eastern paste made from ground sesame seeds
- a tasty mixture to be spread on bread or crackers or used in preparing other dishes

Tahini paste is used in a variety of dishes. Tahini-based sauces are common in Arab and I****li restaurants as a side dish or as a garnish, usually including lemon juice, salt and garlic, and thinned with water. Tahini sauce is a popular condiment for meat and vegetables in Middle Eastern cuisine. It is also a main ingredient in soups. As a spread, tahini can replace peanut butter on bread, though the flavor and texture are quite different.

In Turkey, tahini mixed with pekmez is common as a breakfast item, especially in winters.

In Cyprus, tahini is mixed with a sort of pastry along with sugar making a sweet desert or breakfast side. It is called Tahınlı and is most common in the North of Cyprus.

Tahini is also the main ingredient in the Mediterranean type of halva.

Tahini is becoming more common in European cuisine and can be found as an ingredient in some pre-packaged sandwiches.

Sesame paste is also used in Chinese, Korean and Japanese cuisines.

Just to say thanx to Mamu Aziz whom just got back from Sudan and brought the Tahina along with him. Thanx for your thought Abg Aziz, kalu balik M'sia mesti beli something for Sham. Sedap Tahina 2... Rasa dia macam our kacang tumbuk tp lain sikit. Macam ada pahit2 sikit. If our kacang tumbuk its sooo manis...

Wak Dol vs. Pak Li

Have u ever experience a situation when so are tremendously, extremely hungry, u craved so much for a meal, as in a proper meal...

Apparently, when it comes to the time, things doesn't seemed the way u expect it 2 be (as in, the taste / service sucks, etc) and u just loose yr appetite in a split second, sedangkan perut mmg lapar tahap maximum, but u just CAN'T EAT!!!

Unfortunately, I had to face this situation when i got back from AJL with Adam Timberlake de la Spears (yang mengalami 'hangover' eventhough he didn't drink- nyanyi Womanizer like nobody's biz LOL) and Mr. Fauzi aka Mesin Masa. It was already 1am & i was so sleepy but yet hungry.

They ordered fried kway teow n i ordered Club Sandwiches. After sometimes, i wondered y la my order x sampai lagi, so i asked the girl, she checked n actually told me dgn penuh selamba : Sorry i Lupa...

Ok fine, i still wait.. But bila adam dah habis makan, n my food is still not served, i called - i mean, i screamed in order to get their attention (as they were bz with themselves), n cancelled my order :
- Tp dah buat dah
- Tp i dah hilang selera, n i xkn makan the food kalu u served pun
- Sorrylah, kitchen byk order td
(occupancy x sampai 50% pun)

Within split second, she came to the table with the club sandwich - which gave me picture, that benda 2 dah siap, but she didn't serve it as she was bz chit-chatting or whatever. Lg la I blow!!! So what's the point of her taking it to the table as i already rejected it.

Fact / experience / comparison :

1.Wak Dol's fried kway teow xde Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) - rasa x sama.
- meanwhile Pak Li's fried kway teow always taste the same.

2. My earl grey tea wasn't served in the same cup as it was previously.

3. Didn't listen to orders as Adam said - both kway teow lebih, but only 1 yang lebih, the other didn't.

4. Pak Li always repeat order which Wak Dol never.
- Eventhough it is just 2 miserable ice lemon tea n Faiz (the waiter yg always serves us) dah familiar sgt. He sees our face n mention it, but he still repeats order.

5. Wak Dol had difficulties handling orders - probably baru kot...

6. Out of 426 times, ops! sorry.. According 2 Adam it's 597 times we went to Pakli, we only got screwed few times. But this is only my 3rd time in Wak Dol n i already got screwed. Almost got screwed the 2nd time, but i deal with it hoping it'll never happen again.

So Moral of the story :
PAK LI IS STILL THE BEST

So... not that I won't go to Wak Dol anymore, but i'll be extra carefull.. But I'll take a break for the time being. So sorry if i'm being a little harsh here, but since i work in hospitality industry / service line, its hard 4 me to tolerate this kinda crab. Furthermore, i was really hungry then & it somehow spoilt my mood, in the middle of the night.

Enough Said!!!

Chic Cuppies Moments

Checked out Chic Cuppies the other day... 1st time consuming was during Faradiba's Surprise Bday party... No doubt the topping is kinda sweet, so i had to minimize the intake... But the rest, mmg perfect!!! Moist, tasty n simply yummmyyyyyyyyyy.......

Also loved the concept of the outlet, the variety of cuppies differs daily... Sort ada daily time table.... So cuteeeeeeeeee...........

As beginning, we tried 1 1st -
FATAL ATTRACTION!!!
-Choc cuppy with choc topping...

The next day, better half made a surprise as I was fasting... Konon2 juadah berbuka la... Katanya... Walaupun...

Voila...

My darlink Fatal Attraction & Wake Me Up
- Coffee flavoured cuppy with coffee flavoured topping...

Piece of advise :
Since I was 2 full 2 consume it, so I kept in the fridge n ate it the day after. Well i felt that the texture sucked... Seriously... So moral of the story, better consume it at room tempreature & while its fresh... Or else it'll be keras n dry...

Cherry

Few month ago, Lyn published a posting on Lemak Duku, well, i think its my turn to talk about one of my favorite fruit, fresh cherries...

Taken from Wikipedia :
The word
cherry refers to a fleshy fruit (drupe) that contains a single stony seed. The cherry belongs to the family Rosaceae, genus Prunus, along with almonds, peaches, plums, apricots and bird cherries. The subgenus, Cerasus, is distinguished by having the flowers in small corymbs of several together (not singly, nor in racemes), and by having a smooth fruit with only a weak groove or none along one side. The subgenus is native to the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere, with two species in America, three in Europe, and the remainder in Asia. The word "cherry" comes from the French word "cerise", which comes in turn from the Latin words cerasum and Cerasus.

There actually nothing much that i wanna say about cherry, apparently, my cousin just got engaged and had cherries (mixed with grapes) as one of the hantaran. Taste tinggi uols... Maklumla, he's a chef (correction! yea cik suraya- its actually COMMIS 1, to be precised) in a 5 star hotel.

Coincidentally, it happened to be one of my favourite - but could hardly get it as it cost a fortune :) According to my cousin, the market price is around RM 60.00 per kg, from Petaling Street... Itu baru PS, if Cold Storage lagila mahals... He happens to be lucky as his boss sponsored those cherries for the hantaran.

Since he's a perfectionist, he only choose the best to be given to the bride's side. The rest were served for family. So, I managed to indulged myself with several numbers. To me, it's so sedap n i enjoyed it more than grape...

ps:
I wonder y it looked red in internet when its actually dark maroon here... Probably bcoz of our whether here...
