Souvenirs from Bangalore, India

Mum just got back from Bangalore, India as she accompanied her niece, Prof. Dr Noriah of UKM whom was attending the 25th Ramayana International Conference... It was held in Mysore, a little city in India...

- Thx to my dear Fendy for helping her with her seat :)

I expected a whole lots of stuff once she's back, but as India is such a 'humble city' so what could i expect la kn... She brought some wonderful sarees, though... Ada la jugak, knn... Just to share some stuff that she got...

I got 2 pairs of saree from her... The pic below is silk, that cozt her around RM 200.00.. The material is so fine and the colour is so amazing.. But this pic was taken without flash, as i want it to look natural.. As usual, it's pink 4 me...

Lately, she's been in love with BELLs so much... So she brought this hanging bell thingy... Nice kn? Siap pusing lagi... But it's for decoration purposes only.. Xde bunyi pun... The one next to it makes noise whenever the wind blows...

As much as Mum's craze over bells, i just have this craze towards Fridge Magnets, lately... I expected her to get a load of FM 4 me as i planned 2 distribute among my collector friends... Unfornately she couldn't find any as it wasn't a tourist place that she was at... Thank goodness she got one from a friend - its a pic of Bangalore Palace, India...

She got several beautiful cushion cover which she planned to give some friends but we told her to just keep it for home use... hehhehehe...

An 'after mint' from the plane - its something that Indian will chew after meal...

Indian delights...

Some Fragrant Incense Sticks @ setanggi..

Of coz, she didn't bring home this... Its their meal over there...
It's vegetarian...

Jalan-jalan Cari Makan - Ikan Bakar Jalan Bellamy

Yesterday, on my way to Utusan (sempat jumpa Azim jap), dropped by for lunch at Jalan Bellamy, behind Istana Negara...

Apparently, Jalan Bellamy is well known for their ikan bakar.

Tips :
Normally open for lunch. If one plan on coming to this place for lunch, be there before 1 pm... Or after 2pm (as the Cantekker Girls did masa balik from Genting)... If u arrive there at 1 plus, it'll be like so packed...

Itupun, I had to make 2 rounds to look for a parking space...

There are 3 restaurants in the row, plus 1 new one opposite. Amongst the 3, I prefer the middle one... (probably because of the ingredient n the 'cicah')... The other 2 pun quite femes gaks...

So here we are, indulging ourselves with the ikan bakar...
eventually, sampai x dengar masa Tun called :)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

On my way back, passed by this place, it was my Mum's former workplace, its called Pusat Latihan Kemas located at Jalan Syed Putra (Federal Highway). It was a training centre for cikgu kemas. Mum was one of the instructor and she had been there before she got married. So, somehow or rather, I sort of 'grew up' with this place.

Age wise, i think this building had been there for over 50 years. Apparently, I was surprised to see its structure yang macam kena demolished gitew. Initially, I took the photo to show it to Mum, but she told me it was under renovation.

Then, I made my way straight back to the office, tp sempat drop by to meet Fara for a while at Rest. Pandan oops! i mean, Rest. Bawang Merah, SS15, Subang Jaya...

See, how I somehow killed not just 2 birds with 1 stone, but I think its 4 or 5 birds kot... Hope u got my point... -enough said-

My Beloved 'Bunda' in Mingguan Wanita

Few weeks ago, a reporter of Mingguan Wanita came over and interviewed my Mum. Apparently I was at work so I didn't get a chance to meet up with her.

I didn't even have the idea when the mag was gonna be in the market until i received an sms from Nad on Thursday morning : "Nad nampak pic akak dlm mjlh wanita.. pasal ibu kak amy.. Cover page Noraniza Idris.. Ada gambar with family.."
Thanx Naddy...

But apparently pic so very the buruk in it... They reshot from a hard copy pic... At least if I would have known earlier, I could have prepared some choices of family photo... But it was ok la.. Dah publish pun... There's nothing much that i could do about it... Huhuhu... Redha je la... I was a photo taken in Tangkuban Perahu, Bandung... it was kinda hot dat day... So haruslerr my face mcm hampeh...

Btw, thanx a lot to Julie Roshana Akma of Karangkraf...

Juz to share the article which I scanned this morning using the office scanner... But the quality wasn't so ok...

ps :
Proud to have a Mum as strong as she is... Despite all the obstacles she went through, she's still standing strong and full of faith... I always pray for Allah to give her all the strength, health n panjangkan her umur... Amin...

Well she's the only one that i have rite now...

Love u MAK!!!
