What a Long Saturday

It was indeed a long day when i had lotsa things 2 do, according 2 plan...

Basically it was DFC's Jom! Jalan Raya Thingy & attending my cousin's wedding... Thank goodness it all worked out according 2 plan... So just to have a glimpse on what i went through on 17th October 2009.

Woke up early as I need to ensure that this 'bakul for Buah Tangan' for the host is ready.

First thing was to rebus the Ketupat Palas. The Dodol, Serunding Ikan & Ikan Bilis had been packed a day before. Mostly it's Serunding Daging, but y not give serunding ikan & ikan bilis? Dare 2 be different, kn...

Furthurmore, Ketupat Palas & Serunding Ikan Bilis is Dafi's personal favourite...
Fyi, the serunding Ikan Bilis is home-made...

As for the bakul, a special thank goes 2 my colleague, Sabrina for decorating it... Kalu ikut i, just nk tie ribbon jer, bur Sab insisted on having skirting and tied the ribbon along the handle... Sab mmg creative... Thx Sab... I loved it....

Firstly we went 2 Nanna Zz's house in Shah Alam... Nanna's Mum couldn't believe that Dafi was coming untill Dafi arrived depan mata... Nanna even invited her friends over... Dorang sangat meriah... Btw, the speghetti was delicious... The meat was cunky & the mushroom sangat besar...

What' special about umah Nanna ni is her CATS... Kedatangan kami juga disambut oleh seekor kucingnya... The rest semua chomel & sangat gebu... I gerammmmm...

Then we proceeded to Nad Rainbow's house at Sunway. Kami dijamu dengan pelbagai juadah... Ada Laksa, Meehoon, Chocolate, Kuih Raya n macam-macam lagi.... Plus air Ribena... What's special was the Mihun Goreng... The Udang Galah was so big & plenty...

adakah ini mihun goreng or 'Udang Galah Bermihun'? LOL

Destinasi seterusnya ke Rumah Syuk @ Kicuk di Kuchai Lama... Apparently kami x familiar with this area. So banyak kali gak berpusing. Finally stopped at Shell & datanglah Kicuk dengan Baju Melayu Purple & motornya to lead us the way...

Kami disajikan pelbagai juadah... Ada Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, Tauhu Sumbat, Karipap, Agar-agar, Karpus (buah tembikai la), n macam-macam lagi... Maklumla buat open open house... The Mee Goreng was really nice... Sangat moist & cukup rasa...

Then we headed back to Hotel Putra to get ready for our Kemuncak Jom! Jalan Raya event...

Eventhough it was simple, i considered it successful one... Hope everyone had fun as much as did... Thanks to my beloved A/VIDs, Dafi & all yang menjayakannya... Really appreciate it.. Tasekkur Ederim, from the bottom of my heart... Love all of u....

From Hotel Putra, I headed back to Shah Alam after receiving a call from Mum "bila nak balik ni? Semua orang (family) dah ada dkt umah. Event start awal, ada 9 meals". - aiyoo! Bondaku dah murka...

I was thinking of taking NKVE 2 avoid the traffic but, it jammed at Shah Alam... Hampeh tol! So I didn't get to change whatsoever, just took a shawl n go... Thank goodness my baju x jauh lari from theme...

Then we headed straight to Kota Permai Golf & Country Club to attend Johan Ariff's & Nik Amelia's wedding reception, yang sangat sweeeet....

We were served 9 course Chinese Meal... Fyi, no 9 is so significant to this couple as they Nikah on 9 September 2009, hantaran 9,999.99 and mas kahwin RM99.99...

Finally, I came home exhausted... Tapi sempat online to check my 'farm', upload pictures, charge camera's battery, and pengsan..... zzzzzzzzzzzz......

ps : It was such a 'curly' day... Just look at Lyn, Fara, Yaty & the bride... LOL

Open House & Bunny yang paling Best!!!

Got an invitation from Zack (not Zac Efron ok :), hubby's BFF... Despite all the open houses why i say this is one the best? Just have a look at the menu.... Ya ampunnnnn!!! Mmg xbley bla...

Already have this mindset saying that kalu pg umah Zack, mmg makan sedap... Last year he served Ikan patin imported from Sg. Pahang n ikan keli sambal, this year it's more than ikan keli uolss... Menu yang sangat sedap n pelbagai...

As a matter of fact, gue ini sangat la merindukan makanan M'sia... Da seminggu makan salad, roti, cream soup, n lotsa beef... Bila dpt mkn camni, rasa heaven sggt... Sebaik pakai leggings... hahhahahha

From Zack's residence, we made our way terus ke Mid Valley coz ada ada Playboy perfume Roadshow. Initially, Lyn asked me 2 teman her. Nak jumpa skin specialist katanya, n nak support Red Mummy as one of the Bunnies... Lepas ni, harus la Lyn's skin jadi smooth n supple ibarat ibarat telur yang dikupas kulit... Wah! gitew lah....

It was a great event. Besides supporting Red Mummy, managed 2 meet up with some other blogger like Ayu the Sun, Rose n her luvely daughter, Yaty 'Kerepek', and it was a pleasure meeting Fana and Amira...

As for Red Mummy, we're really glad that she won the best Bunny... She deserved it though! Done lots of preparation and homework. Just have a look at her, so different n bold compared 2 the rest... Harussla Ayu the sun jadi image consultant, kn :D... The 'ekor' so chumellls la...

On top of that, she went extra mile by doing PR in order 2 get shoppers 2 vote 4 her...

Raya Morning at my In Law's

Spent my hari Raya at my in law's... After the salam-salam session, I came out with the idea of taking family photos. It's been a while since we had one...

This lil chap is Yusry Hakimy. His parent minat KRU sangat and named him after Yusry. Hakimy is Yusry's name in Mr. Cinderella... If m not mistaken... Being the 1st grand child of the family makes him pampered... He's such a smart, mischivious n cute lil boy...

Uci yang chumelllsss...

He is really attached with his Pak Long, but pronounced as Along as how his dad did. If dah jumpa Along, it would be difficult for him to let go... He loved Along's handphone (that he uses to take photos), lappy & his latest aim is my camera... Which is a complete No No la kan... Sorry Uci :(

This is hubby's siblings. All boys. The one next to him is Faiz, the youngest and the one next to Faiz is Khairul aka Angah cum Yusry's Dad. Just have a look at him, seing the rest puts hands on each other's shoulders, he wants the same, too... Regardless his height... lol

The Raya Cookies Project

Utilized the long weekend to make an early hari raya preparation, ie... buat kueh raya.... lallalala... Siap amek cuti uolss....

It may sounded early, but since i've the opportunity 2 do so, might as well get it done n over with... Furthermore, cookies ni mmg tahan lama...

Since there were 3 days, so I made 3 types of cookies... Simple2 jer, most important, antara cookie favourite household, esp the last one...

Day 1 - Cornflakes Cookies
- simple yet tasty n crispy

Day 2 - Semprit
- supposed to garnish with cherry but it's too typical, so i changed to stars :D

Day 3 - Chef Wan Chocolate Chips Cookies

Looks may be deceiving. Eventhough it's x cantekk but it's my brother's favourite.. Every year dia akan mintak, last year i didn't layan, but this year i had 2... Cian dia... But this year, I tried Chef Wan's recipe...

Of course, I won't get it done without my beloved Kak Mas nyer help... It's more to, me helping her out... lol... For the 1st 2 recipes, beat manually ok... No mixer involved... Matilah I if she found out i put her pic dalam blog... hahahha...

Occcay.. Now we've got 3 types of cookie for hari raya, and that's about it... No more baking cookie anymore... And, m not allowed 2 buy any kueh raya... huhuhu... Coz no one will consume it n it will membazir jer...

InsyaAllah, if time permits, i'll hit another project which is 'Popia Simpul' with serunding filling...

ps : wanted 2 get tepung cap 'Sauh' but then yang ada was cap 'wau' je... hehhehehe

Egg

One of the difference between fresh egg & non fresh one is the layer that separated the egg yolk and white is thick.

This is what i discovered when had to extract egg yolks in order 2 make some kuih raya.

If the egg is agak lama, i tend to face difficulties separating the yolk, it will 'pecah' easily ie. 2 egg 1 ok, 1 egg akan fail...

But with fresh egg, I manage to separate 7 egg yolks n white, successfully... As in, not even a single failure...

Deepavali invitation - the Vegetarian way

Received an invitation from Auntie Veesa to her house in conjunction with Deepavali invitation, an invitation i was really looking forward for. What's special about it is because Auntie Veesa is a vegetarian. As in purely vegetarian - not even egg.. Guess she's really pious...

So lets take a look on the dishes we had...

Apparently it was something new for me...

The main course - nasi briyani using basmathi...
Besides briyani, there were Tosei which i didn't take any snapshot of...

The chicken used was not an actual chicken, as vegetarian is prohibited to consume any poultry nor anything with lives. It is a kind of mock chicken, made from mushroom n soy. Amazingly, it tasted almost like real chicken, plus the texture... In fact it was even softer n higher in terms of nutrients. Plus, in doesn't contain any cholesterol whatsoever...

The mutton also looked as real as the chicken was. With its texture, colour, taste n everything...

The vegetarian kurma uses an item called 'meal maker'. Its made of dried toufoo, whereby one needs to soak before cooking. Basically, the kurma contained carrot, potatoes n the meal maker.
