Maizan buktikan kekurangan diri bukan halangan untuk berjaya

KETABAHAN, sabar dan rajin berusaha adalah antara perisai kemanisan bagi mengecapi kebahagiaan serta kejayaan. Prinsip itulah yang menjadi rantai jiwa Maizan Mohd Salleh yang mengalami masalah albino untuk berjaya dan mencapai cita-cita. Kini terselit rasa kepuasan dalam diri kerana dirinya sudah berjaya bergelar sebagai peguam bela dan peguam cara.

Namun, bukan mudah bagi wanita berkulit cerah itu berada pada tahapnya sekarang. Ketika melalui zaman kanak-kanak dan remaja, terbit rasa rendah diri, malah wanita bertubuh kecil itu pernah menangisi kekurangan diri akibat albino yang diwarisi daripada genetik keluarga.

Apa pun, Maizan percaya albino diwarisi bukanlah sumpahan. Iaa adalah kuasa Allah dan ada hikmah di sebaliknya. Berfikiran lebih positif peguam muda itu juga percaya jika tidak dilahirkan albino, mungkin dirinya belum tentu lagi berani berdepan dengan cabaran.

Tabah hadapi cabaran

MELIHAT kulit cerah dimiliki Maizan Mohd Salleh, mungkin ramai yang berasa pelik. Bahkan, barangkali akan menoleh untuk kali kedua kerana kurang yakin apa dilihat atau pun ingin mendapatkan kepastian bahawa yang disaksikan bukanlah khayalan pandangan mata semata-mata.

Why am I so eager to blog about this article some may ask. Well its simply because Maizan is a friend - indeed a truly, deeply dear friend of mine. I knew her back in 1989 and we became really close in 1990 when we were placed in the same class.

I still remembered how she used to have problems looking to the blackboard (zaman dolu2 still guna blackboard hehehhe- not whiteboard ok, m x sure abt now), how she had problems reading if the fonts were too small, and such.

I remembered those days when I accompanied her to the bus stop in PJ Newtown aka State. Just to ensure she got in the right bus. This was because back then the font being used to indicate the bus no were a bit small. We waited until the bus came. When she already got in the right bus, I walked home. I think it was bus no 50 :)

Nevertheless, her albinism is definitely not an obstacle for her to be successful. In fact - it's her strength. Look at her now, a successful lawyer in one of the best firm in town. Not gonna say much but I am way too proud of her. Proud that someone as successful as she is, is someone i call FRIEND. And she is, the one & only MAIZAN MOHD SALLEH.

Fyi, being featured in Berita Harian is not her first as she had been featured previously in Kosmo! and The Star (within few month). Wanted to blog about it then but didn't get the chance to do so. But I felt that this article is rather exclusive as it focused on her whereby the rest was about her and other albanese.

Dear Maizan,

if u're reading this, I just want u to know that I am really proud of your achievement. Proud that u've made it through all those obstacles. I know it's not easy and making it 2 the point that u are 2day is something not everyone could achieve easily. But u did!

Thanks for being such a wonderful friend and i'll always cherish & treasure our friendship.
