Au revoir 2009... Holla 2010...

pic taken my luvely & humble farm of Farmville :D

2010 is approaching really soon... It marks an entirely new beginning... As it's not only new year but new decade... Feels like it was only yesterday when i had this new 'Millennium' thingy... Now, it's already 10 years...

Hope 2010 brings more and more of the good things in life... Joy, health, prosperity, everything...Most important is to become a good Muslim in all aspects...

I've got my own resolution but it will definitely won't become a reality without co-operation from the 'other party'... Hope we can work together towards our mission ok.... Please please please... It's really important 4 me, i mean us... Malas cakap banyak, nt dikata 'berleter'.... lalallalallaaaaa.....

Whatever it is, m wishing a Happy New Year ahead... May it be a better year than the ones before, InsyaAllah...

On the other hand, I'll always cherish n treasure 2009... Thanx for the good memories as per my colleague, Melvin Jipiu: May The Scar Remained, May The Memories Remind.....

Antara Sehati Berdansa & Family Commitment

Being able to to watch "Sehati Berdansa" live has always been my dream... Apparently, i realize that the finals clashes with my Annual Family Gathering, a really important event for all family members of AL-BAJURI...

So, I just hope, Maizan will not be inviting me should there be any extra ticket (berangan la sangat kan...) so, I wouldn't have to consider anything, and not feel guilty, be it to the family nor to myself and Maizan...

To make things difficult, SHE DID!!! and hoped so much i could make it, as said i helped so by attending the previous shows, which 2 me was nothing much pun...

The reason why I wanted so much to attend the show wasn't about watching it sangat, but I really wanted to see Maizan go on stage to receive the replica checque, be it the winner or runner up.. As I know how much she love her beloved society - KL & Selangor Albanism Association (KLSAA).. KLSAA is like her baby and being the President, I know much she strived for it.

After given deep thought and consideration, I decided to stay for the Family Gathering and let go 'Sehati Berdansa'... Indeed it wasn't an easy decision to make but i've got my own reason of doing it... And, should any of my cuz or family members be reading this, m sure they'll understand why... Enuff said...

ps : Hope to catch up with Maizan soon 2 share lotsa stuff and her 'victory'...

Tetra House of Briyani, Bukit Tinggi

Had lunch at Tetra House of Briyani, Bukit Tinggi and decided to share...

Address :
No 10-00-01, Lorong Batu Nilam 4A, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, 41200 Klang, Selangor

Hp : +6016-922 1771
t/f : + 03-3324 2021

email : tetra@mail2caterers.com / jothi_airod@yahoo.com

Tetra House of Briyani is an Indian Restaurant... Despite the fact, the foods are all HALAL, not to worry. This is assured as they declared the supplier of chicken :

These are the buffet spread... All foods looked good.. The curry are so thick and spicy. The portion are big...

We came in the morning... At that time, they serve all the breakfast item such as Roti Canai, Capatti, Tosei and such... Besides the food variety at the buffet line, there are other ala carte item available according to the menu...

sneak preview of the menu
- the price is considered reasonable

their daily specilties...
- should've tried the vege chicken as i love vege food...

We ordered Chicken Briyani (RM9.00). My first impression was : OMG! great presentation... So authentic... Fyi, the chicken was 'hidden' underneath the rice... Main hide n seek plaks... LOL

So this the way it was supposed to be consumed :

Lift the rice container

Turn it upside down

Taraaaaaaaa

The taste is superb, as in the rice n chicken.. If u scrutinize the rice, it uses Beras Basmathi... The condition of the rice is really moist ( but not soggy), the portion of the chicken is considered big, the rice is a lot (to me la!) and the yogurt vege (the one like coleslaw) taste good too... I recommend this to be tried!!!

As for the drink, i had mango lassi... it's fresh and pure... love it!!!! Just have a looked at the 'foamy texture'... but if u don't fancy lassi / yoghurt, i suggest take something else as the variety of the drink are wide, too...

Another thing that's authentic here is the glass... If u order plain water, it'll come in an aluminium glass... the taste may be the same, but drinking from an aluminium glass simple gives a different feeling... hubs loved to consume water from it and we even have this type of glass at home..

A Day Out with the Drama Queen...

Meet Lina Razali or fondly known as Lina Ratu Drama of DFC... LOL...

Known her back in 2007 and we got 'virtually' close, despite our age gap...

She stays in Singapore and this my third time meeting her. She came down all way from Singapore to attend Dafi's birthday celebration...

aiyooo lina!!! mata pandang mana 2?
tgk Dafi ekh? lol...

A day after the event, we decided to spend some time together...
Apparently Lyn and Fara couldn't make it as Lyn ada wedding to attend n Fara had 'difficulties' leaving the house as it was too early... :)
Thank goodness hubs was there to take me to KL... Gigih sangat we had an early start as both of us ada another matter in the afternoon..

Picked her up from Brisdale Hotel... to be honest, i went to the wrong hotel and found another person in the room... aiooo! sangat malu...Rupenya the hotel is just next door...

Then we went for breakfast at Capitol Cafe, depan Sogo... Initially, wanted to take her for capati (lina, google it!!!) but the shop was closed...

Lina enjoying her Meehun Hailam

Capitol Cafe is such an old place and sangat authentic... We had rojak, cantonese kway teow, mihun hailam, toast bread & steamed bread... At first, I was quite worried Lina couldn't tolarate but thank goodness she's ok...

Mihun Hailam

rojak mamak

Cantonese Kway Teow...

Steamed Bread & Roti bakar yang biasa2 jer...
Probably coz we've been comparing it to too many places...

After breakfast, both of us made our way 2 jalan-jalan at Sogo and hubs made his way to starbucks while waiting 4 us..

Then, we sent her back n met her beloved family...

with little Nadiah...
She's a big girl, now!!!

Sista-sista...
The one next to Lina is Munira & the one in pink is Nazia...

gonna miss yr cheekie cheeks.....
mwahhhsx...

A Bite of Roast Turkey

As we walked along the concourse area of Subang Parade, we saw several staff distributing leaflets and a long queue... At the end of the queue, we saw a chef and his assistant carving one large turkey to be given away...

It was Holiday Villa's promotion for CHRISTMAS ROAST TURKEY... And they gave away some turkey for testing purposes... So, we joined the queue, and hit the turkey.. Well, saja nak try... Initially, hubs was agak 'was-was' but since i love turkeys, i told him to just go for it... Xkanlah Holiday Villa nak serve something yang suspicious kn...

the line wasn't that long, though

this is the chef and his 'angel' assistant :D
she looked so cute in this attire...

The roast turkey came with2 type of sauce - Cranberry & Giblet Gravy...
I didn't take the Cranberry as i don't fancy...
the Giblet Gravy is really delicious...

Christmas Roast Turkey with Chestnut Filling...
Apparently we loved the filling more than the turkey... LOL

For inquiries, please call the F&B Dept of Holiday Villa
at 03-5633 8788 ext 7201 or 7211

Meeting an Old Friend

It feels so goood to meet an old friend...

This is Rabiyatul Shariz, fondly known as Rabie... I've known her as we were classmate in Assunta Primary School and we were in same class in Secondary 2... We lost touch and 'met' back via Facebook... This is one the wonders that FB had done :D

This is the 1st time we met after centuries... A least 16 years... Initially, Rabie wants 2 book a venue 2 organize his son's birthday celebration, so asked her 2 drop over so at least she could have a look at the menu...

Lgpun, really wanna meet her :D well, we chat n chat dari hujan lebat sampai hujan berenti n hujan balik... hahhahhah.... like so many things 2 catch up n talked about... well, i think we seriously ought to hang out...

Whatever it is, it was a great pleasure meeting u, Rabie... Thanx a lot for dropping by... and sorry x dapat chat lama....

ps : Rabie is a blogger, too... To read her blog, kindly click here....

Cocktail Buffet of DAFI 21

Happy 21st Birthday, Dafi!!!!

Holla... been ages since my last update... kinda got my hands tied with lotsa stuff esp. work which got me pretty tired 2 blog when i got home...

What a relief that Dafi's Birthday is over n i can consider a successful event... M sure by now, the event had been covered by media and everyone via Facebooks, Blogs, Myspace, etc... And most important via http://dafi-fc.com. Click here to read about it...

Therefore I'd love to look into a different perspective of the event... ie : THE FOODS served!!! hahhahaha....

Eventhough I was pretty packed during the event, I managed to 'steal' a few moments to have some humble snapshots of the foods served... Apparently, left the dessert line... X sempat.. busy with some other stuff :D

DAFI 21

@ Tropicana Golf & Country Resort

In conjunction with Dafi's 21st Birthday on 14th December 2009

Organizer : The Official Dafi Fan Club

Concept : Cocktail Birthday Party

Theme : "Lagu dalam Filem"

Dress Code : Black & White

menu concept :

COCKTAIL BUFFET

all in all, the concept of this event is not DINNER! Therefore, it's not the kind of event where one expect to come for the main purpose of eating aka makan sampai kenyang... It's more to a party concept.. whereby, the foods served are cocktail, where the guest could makan sambil mingle around... Seswai dengan concept 'Cocktail Birthday Party'

that's reason why the club provides mainly CANAPES...

A canapé (Spanish/French for couch[1] and known in Italy as tartina) is a small, prepared and usually decorative food, held in the fingers and often eaten in one bite. source : wikipedia

LOL...

therefore, as an organizer, we took all that into consideration and hope our beloved guest are satisfied with the foods...

menu item :

Canape

Chicken Sausages, Egg on Cucumber, Tuna on Cracker, Turkey Ham with Pineapple & Cheese on Toast.

Hot Dishes

Vegetarian Samosa, Lamb Kebab, Spring Rolls, Mini Pizza, Chicken Murtabak & Dalca,

Fried Mee Hoon

Titbits

Peanuts, Vegetable Sticks with Dip & Keropok

Vegetable Sticks served with thousand Island dressing

Dessert

Fresh Fruit Platter, Assorted Pastries, Assorted Malay Kuih & Chocolate Brownies

Orange Cordial

Canape

To me, the best Canape is Tuna on Cracker, Egg on Cucumber & Turkey Ham with Pineapple... But I just ate the topping jer, and left the base behind... sangat membazir kn... The reason why I live those canape is simply because i loved Caviar and Turkey Ham so much... but Caviar is too costly and this is the best time for me to consume it...
Chicken Sausages

Tuna on Cracker

Egg on Cucumber

Cheese on Toast

Turkey Ham with Pineapple

Hot Dishes

Amongst all the hot dishes, i was really enjoying the lamb kebab, eventhogh i only ate 1 stick of the kebab, i could feel the tenderness of the meat and it was really juicy... Hubs said, if nak makan dekat Arabic Restaurant, memang mahal, 1 stick could cost around RM8.00... itupun chicken, not lamb... Should've consume more... But the situation just didn't permit...

Lamb Kebab with mint gravy

Mini Pizza

Vegetarian Samosa

Spring Rolls

Chicken Murtabak & Dalca

Fried Mee Hoon

The Birthday Cake

pic taken from DFC's official website

The cake was sponsored by Farhan... In fact, this the second time... The first time was Dafi's birthday last year - the terbang tinngi event at KL Tower... According to Farhan, this time is lagi moist compared to last year... Memang betul pun... Sangat moist!!! Even after 2 -3 days... Thanx a lot, Farhan!!!! And thx 2 Capek gak coz membawaknya all the way 2 Tropikana, naik LRT lagi... Cayalah guys...

I think this is the heaviest cake on earth I've ever seen n lifted... Ya ampunsss... Thank goodness I got help from Lyn & Fara... Itupun I felt my left arm aching & lenguh2 on the next day... Just imagine 5 kg of weight on my arm...

Nevetheless, it was a pleasure carrying the cake for Dafi, the birthday boy... Along with Noryn Aziz (whom I adore so much for her talent, beauty n all) who sang the birthday song, in her own unique way... She is just superb!!!
