My Humble Weekend

Went out with my better half and his college buddy, Zack... They planned on catching a movie, apparently I wanted to menyibuk sekali... Boring la stay at home.. So I had to follow their choice of movie... Then, they decided to check on 'The Forbidden Kingdom'...

I was like, gosh! this is the first time watching this kind of movie... M not a good movie reviewer so m not gonna say much about it but it was a great show... Kinda humorous at times... Worth watching...

While waiting for the movie to start, we had a drink at 'I can't remember the name' kopitiam at 1st floor, the Curve... Meanwhile, I managed to have a 'sneak' at the flea market and check out some earrings... Like so wajib to check it out... :)

I couldn't agree more...

Meanwhile, on Sunday, we checked out Sunway Pyramid and met up with my brother in-law, Faiz...
I miss Jco so much...

Smile guys...

Lalala...

It was so un'sangka'rable that we got a park at CP4 on a Sunday...
Most of the time it'll be at CP5 or above...

My Beloved 'Bunda' in Mingguan Wanita

Few weeks ago, a reporter of Mingguan Wanita came over and interviewed my Mum. Apparently I was at work so I didn't get a chance to meet up with her.

I didn't even have the idea when the mag was gonna be in the market until i received an sms from Nad on Thursday morning : "Nad nampak pic akak dlm mjlh wanita.. pasal ibu kak amy.. Cover page Noraniza Idris.. Ada gambar with family.."
Thanx Naddy...

But apparently pic so very the buruk in it... They reshot from a hard copy pic... At least if I would have known earlier, I could have prepared some choices of family photo... But it was ok la.. Dah publish pun... There's nothing much that i could do about it... Huhuhu... Redha je la... I was a photo taken in Tangkuban Perahu, Bandung... it was kinda hot dat day... So haruslerr my face mcm hampeh...

Btw, thanx a lot to Julie Roshana Akma of Karangkraf...

Juz to share the article which I scanned this morning using the office scanner... But the quality wasn't so ok...

Proud to have a Mum as strong as she is... Despite all the obstacles she went through, she's still standing strong and full of faith... I always pray for Allah to give her all the strength, health n panjangkan her umur... Amin...

KLCC Ice Carving

Ice carving (not ice craving ok) or ice sculpture is a form of sculpture that uses ICE as the main raw material. Sculptures from ice can be abstract or realistic and can be functional or purely decoration. Ice sculptures are generally associated with special or extravagant events because of their limited lifetime.

Most ice carving are done by chef and they uses salt to preserve the ice so it would not melt easily.

Recently, Chef Shahril of INTEKMA Resort had done a an ice carving that uses KLCC as the subject of the sculpture.

But I was like so mean, I zoomed in the upper part of the ice carving and i looked like something else lak... Hehheheh... Do u guys see what I see...

What does this resembles?
Clue : something eerie..
Motifff....

Meanwhile, there zillion of beautiful ice carving images that i found from the net. Just to share a few..

I love this one... Its so fine...

But if u were to go the competition, you'll be mesmerized with more ice carving... Not just ice, but thay also carve butter, chocolate n much more.. They looked so real, n fine... N I can go like OMG! OMG! all the way.. Like so jakun ok... hehhee...

Jalan-jalan Cari Makan : Wonderland Seafood, Langkawi

Well, this is considered a belated posting.

Apparently, Tun has always been mentioning that my blog has some sort of 'Travel & Living' elements (Ray, r u sure?)... somehow i'm inspired to have a Jalan-jalan Cari Pasal ops! I mean, Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan type of posting.

In this type of post, I'll try to do an 'amateur' kind of food review... Konon la... Please excuse should there be any missing elements... maklumla, baru nak belajar buat so called food review...

I do have quite a number of foods & restaurants pictures that i took but apparently, tak sempat nak buat posting. InsyaAllah, I'll do it gradually, if time permits.

So for a start, i'll begin with this seafood restaurant that had our dinner at, in Langkawi. This place was introduced to us by the Travel Agent guy, as we were looking for a good food, with reasonable price, preferably Chinese Cuisine. Definitely halal la, of coz...

This place is called Wonderland Seafood Restaurant, located in Pekan Kuah, by the River. 1st impression, you'll might think it's non halal, and i don't say its 100% halal as it serves liquor. But when it comes to food, it is ensured halal. Even the staff and chef are Malay. But according to the owner, he had to served those alcoholic beverages as 80% are foreigner @ 'Mat Salleh'.

There are several restaurants along the row, but this place had a major crowd. Customer's responds are tremendously overwhelming. Some even had to wait to obtain their seats, even the neighbor restaurant had so banyak vacancies, but they still waited for this one.

Ambiance of the Restaurant

Most of the customer's are regulars. According to the owner, there is this one couple from Australia, and they had been there for like 8 years, every summer mesti turun Langkawi.

And we were like so kiasu, we were there for 5days/4nights, and for all those nights, we had dinner there. Not that we are not keen enough to try other 'genre' of restaurants in Pantai Cenang or elsewhere, but this is just, perfect for our taste buds (n pockets, of coz heheheh). Furthermore, its not quite easy to find a reasonable halal Chinese Restaurant in Klang Valley... Kalau ada pun, it'll normally cost a fortune. So dats was the reason we took the chance, while we were there.

So lets take a look at what we had.

Day 1

Baked Tiger Prawn

- the prawn mmg sedap
, i love the spices. But tiger prawn
(as in the meat) is a bit tough to be compared to udang kertas or other type of small prawn.

Ikan Masak Tiga Rasa (Chinese Style)

- we can't seemed to recall the type of fish we ordered, kerapu kot... But it's a bit to simple for a 'masak 3 rasa'. Its just kicap with some stuff plus cili padi potong yang ditabur on top. Eventhough it was simple, its tasty.

Kailan Oyster Sauce

- biasa la, kailan.. Nothing extra ordinary. I just had a bit.. as m not the vege type of person...

Kam Heong Lala

- this is perfect. The kam heong was great and the portioning was not too bad...

Total : around RM 60.00

Day 2

Kam Heong Crab, Steamed Seabass (Ikan Siakap Kukus) & Udang Lipan Kung Poh Style (cili kering)

Comments :
Steamed Seabass (Ikan Siakap Kukus)

- BINGO!!! It's just perfect for us.. Mild and not too heavy & yet so tasty....

Udang Lipan Kung Poh Style (cili kering)

- The kung poh dish is sedap, but we prefer it to be fish fillet (boneless) kot... But for the sake of trying the 'udang lipan', ok la...

Kam Heong Crab
- memang sedap... It tasted something like the lala, of coz la, both pun masak Kam Heong, but of course its not the same, the crab is like so sedap... My eating habit, prawn & crab will always be my last. Save the best for last is my style. Therefore, i could enjoy it sepuas-puasnya. And i will eat using my hands... I always like to enjoy my prawn/crab dengan penuh khusuk & tawadduk & istiqamah... :)

Total : around RM 40 plus

Day 3
We planned to slow things down that night. had too much cholesterol intake la... So we ordered something simple. We had Fried Meehoon & Siakap Masak Steam.

Had to sustain the siakap, as it was tasty and not too high in terms food intake. And most important was, we just loved it....

No pics taken.

Comments : -The fried meehoon was tasty. Eventhough its simple, the taste and texture was just perfect.

Total : RM 30

Day 4
Buttered Prawn

Steamed Seabass

Baked Lobster

- We don't often eat lobster due to the price which cost a fortune, in fact we hardly take lobster. Since this comes in small portion, this is the time for us to try. And yes, it was so delicious... The isi (eventhough not so banyak) had been taken out from the shell, cooked and put back. It just taste so good, i could hardly describe...

And, I loved the garnishing* so much... Lalalla...

[*garnish = a term : used to decorate food]

Baked Lobster (zoomed in view)

When m full, i started 'playing' with the garnishing... They used carrot to make this 'net' like thingy... So I spent several minutes trying hard to figure out how it was done and voila... got it...

Total : RM 60 nett!!!

Another reason why this place is very popular is probably because of the owner. He is super-duper friendly and he knows how to please his customers well. Despite how busy he was. He knows exactly what to do in busy situation, how to reseat his customers when the rain pour etc...

And he gives good discounts... Just imagine, we paid only RM60 for the lobster, prawn n siakap... He actually 'cincai' kira for us, as for the fish, he gave an extra size compared to the previous ones... We ended taking away the buttered prawn as we were too full to finished it...

Ok dats all about my posting of Wonderland... Hope it was ok, anything, feel free to comment... And, please excuse my bahasa rojak...

My New Sony DCS T-300

Syukur Alhamdulillah... I finally got a replacement for my late LUMIX yg dah mengalami LCD crack itew...

Saw this particular number from the net, fell in love with it... As in totally head over heels over it... Went to PKNS Complex, took out my savings (dgn gigihnya-coz nk beli new camera).. Thinking of generating it 1st..

Apparently, PC fair was juz around the corner, n Abg Sham told me juz go for it... Siap took leave lagi on Saturday n i woke up as early as my working day n made our way to KLCC..

We did some survey first at Suria b4 heading to KL Conv. Ctr... Seing is believing, guys.. When I saw it, I felt even deeper for it... Carry on la suggesting other brand for me... But my love will never change. Abg Sham kata should see the look on face ms promoter promoting other brand 2 us, mcm hampeh sgts... But when it comes to this one, muka I very the berseri2...

Yup its true, I was deceived by look!!!

After several survey, we settled this booth (Tan Electronics) as it offered good price plus some other gifts... Unfortunately, the guy said that the red xde stock, n was like "what?" He said we've got to wait untill 6.00 pm n it was only 3 plus, then Abg Sham went like "its ok, we'll wait"...

And, Voila...
Hensem x?
