Mentarang

M sure not many has heard the word 'Mentarang'. Fyi, it's food and definitely edible. It is a type of shelled seafood but may not be as well known as kerang, lala, bamboo shell, kepah, mussel (kupang), etc...

As far as m concerned, it's only available at the area of Kuala Selangor (heading up to Sg. Besar) dan kawasan-kawasan yang sewaktu dengan nya. Elsewhere - i've no idea.. I'll normally buy by the roadside along the way... When u reach these area, they'll be lotsa stall selling Mentarang along with jagung & mango...

The price is reasonable as it only cost arond RM 5, 6 or so...

According to the seller, sedap masak Tom Yam, but as for our family, masak merah would be cool for mentarang...

It's such a small creature once taken out from the shell but it's definitely yummy yummy :)
