Y Palembang? Some may asked... It's not even a well known city. Well, to be honest, it's the only affordable destination available to compliment out travel dates. The rest cost a fortune... And, we do have some other reason about not going elsewhere, 1001 of them, in fact :)
AFAIC, it's the birthplace of Parameswara... Since when i became a historical freak? I even hated sejarah... Hahhahaha...
We actually heard numerous stories about Palembang that discouraged us. But we've no choice left. But deep in my heart, i do want 2 check Palembang out. After research through the net and discussion with my in law's, we made up our mind and booked the ticket.
Well, no harm trying... But all in, after the trip, I conclude that every city has it's special identity & every trip holds a different story... Wasn't so bad after all...
- Departed to Palembang via Air Asia's AK492.
- Arrived at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang
- Undergo health screening for H1N1 thingy
- Headed to Horison Hotel via shuttle provided
- Checked in Harison, Palembang
- Dinner at RM Sri Melayu, Jalan Demang Lebar Daun (RM = Rumah Makan)
note : This place has got nothing to do with our local Restaurant Sri Melayu at Jalan Conlay no Lebar Daun, the development company located at sec 9 Shah Alam... LOL

DAY 2 :
- Sightseeing via complimentary Vintage City Transportation provided by the Hotel. It's known as 'MOBIL KETEK' - Jeep Willy 1961. Really cool & authentic!!!
- Rented a boat to take a ride along Musi River
- Took a peek at Museum Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II
- Visited MONPERA (Monument Perjuangan Rakyat)
If we have our Tugu Negara, this is like Palembang's Monument cum Museum. It symbolizes independence and the their very own Panglima Besar Jeneral Sudirman.
- Masjid Agung Palembang
This place hold the largest Al-Quran in the world
- Lunch at RM Pindang Musi Rawas
Same concept with Sri Melayu, but personally, I prefer Sri Melayu due to ampbience, price, concept, taste etc...
- Melentics at Palembang Indah Mall (PIM)
- Got the chance to have a look at Mummy Exhibition, collaboration with National Geographic & Egypt Embassy.

DAY 3 :
- Bought some foodstuff from Pempek Candy.
It may sounds kinda k*nky, Pempek seems to be a special meal of Palembang. It's something like our yong tou foo and keropok lekor. Not because of the name, but we didn't fancy this stuff.
We preffered their keropok as for us, Palembang's keropok is the best. Even if we were at Bandung, we'll always buy Keropok Palembang to be taken home.
- Tried Murtabak HAR, a famous Murtabak here. Something like our Roti Telur with a slightly different dough but same concept.
- Indulge and rejuvenate ourselves at Rumah Spa - something really worth it after those long walks & travelings.
- Night scenes of Ampera Bridge (again!)
Being in Ampera Bridge at at the evening is nothing like being there daytime. It has beautiful lights and great scenery & ambiance.
- Crossed Musi River and had dinner at RM. Lagenda, a floating restaurant.
We already rented a boat to get to the restaurant and back when we found that the restaurant offered shuttle boat.. Well... it was a little late then... Huhuhu...
