HOMST RESTAURANT, TTDI

Had dinner with Maizan at HOMST RESTAURANT...

Located at : 48, Persiaran Zaaba, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur... Tel : 03- 7728 0760...

Landmark : Behind Affin Bank... Next to Shell Petrol Station...

This place brings the concept of Chinese Muslim Cuisine... And i do love Chinese foods...

The foods are great, price are ok, and the crowd is overwhelming...

Been here before with hubs, but didn't get the chance to blog... We tot the crowd was there because of weekend, but surprisingly, it's crowded on weekdays 2...

These were what we had then :
- Creamy Buttered Prawn yang super duper yummy... Sehingga menjilat jari... Seriously...
- Baby Kailan Oyster sauce...
- Steamed egg... My fav.. It's something simple yet tasty...
- Siakap steamed Chilli Padi... Yummy... Kinda sour but not too hot, despite the fact it's cili padi...

- Maizan & myself had almost the same menu... Plus some other stuff she had for takeout for her dad...

the ever famous Siakap steamed Chilli Padi

This dessert is the house specialty... It's called MANGO SAGOO LOLO... I didn't order as i expected it to be sweet... But it wasn't... It just had the rite texture and taste at the rite place... It's a thick mango puree, topped with evaporated milk plus sagoo... Sangat sedapppppppppp.....

I'll surely come again and let hubs try this dessert :)

Birthday Treat from Maizan

Got a birthday treat from Maizan.. It was kind of 'a be-earlied one' as my birthday had another few weeks 2 go then... But since we met for a movie, she decided to buy me lunch at Italiannies One Utama... Yipppeeee!!!

I love this place.. It's really cosy...

Guess the name says it all, of coz it's Italian cuisine...This is the 'centre-piece'.. It has olive oil, black vinegar, salt & pepper...

When we arrived, we were served a plate of focaccia (a type of Italian bread)... It's on the house /complimentary.. To be taken with olive oil + vinegar... At first, i felt weird.. But when i tried dipping it, memang sedap... It was a perfect combination...

We decided to have the promotional set : 2 course meal for RM 27.90 (1 appetizer + 1 main course).. I guess this is sufficient for both of us as the focaccia itself is really filling.. If order banyak takut membazir laks...

Since Maizan was craving for soup, we ordered Minestrone Soup... It was really delicious yet not too heavy... It contains capsicum and other vege in a tomato based soup...

As for the Main course, since i fancy fish n cheese s much, we settled on Parmesan Crusted Fish... I love the cheesy capers sauce. The long thingy below the fish are fried zucchini...

We also ordered strawberry colada.. This was more to a dessert than drink... I tot it was purely strawberry but it was blended with banana... So it really heavy... M not saying it doesn't taste good, as it really does but it was just that I don't think it's a good combination to the Parmesan Crusted Fish... So get a lighter drink... Guess ice lemon tea will do... But well, if we don't try, we'll never find out...

While we were about to finish our lunch, the lights went off... Not all.. but it was a partial black-out... Aiyooo.... I immediately grab a snap shot as it was such an experience... I took it positively as felt that if we weren't lucky enuff, it wouldn't have happened while we were dining in... kannnn....

All in all, it was such a dining great experience...
Thnx for the treat, Maizan :)

Besides the lunch treat, she gave me a box of brownies which she ordered special... It was really lovely... Muchas gracias mi amiga

Anniversary Dinner at Bubba Gump

It's another anniversary and we decided to have dinner at Bubba Gump, Sunway Pyramid.. It has another out let at the Curve but this is nearer... It's a cool place to chill.. Sangat happening yet cosy... I love the ambiance & decoration.. It brings the concept of Forrest Gump!!!

This place is really unique...
Since it applies the concept of Forrest Gump, the system that they implement for the waiter & waitress is really cute... They have this signage thingy that if u want 2 call upon the waiter, just flip to "STOP FORREST STOP".. Meanwhile, if u x need anything from them, just leave it to "RUN FORREST RUN"... and they will just walk past the table, without the need to stop...

What a cool ambiance..

I love the bash basin.. sgt authentic...

Enuff about the place as a whole... Ok... Lets get to the food section... We ordered a set meal consists of 6 courses (including drinks... i don't wanna exaggerate)...

- garlic bread, salad, main course, dessert, coffee and refillable drink...
all these for RM55.00++... all comes to RM 63.25 nett...
- i think it's really worth it.. If u x a 'big eater', this set is sufficient for 2 person...

The Set

The Garlic Bread...
- it was really crispy yet soft inside...
The smell of the butter was really irresistible...

Ceaser Salad

As for the Main Course, it came with selection of 4... I can't really remember what are those, but basically it was Chicken, Seafood, Steak & Rib... We took Rib as we both love it and it the most expensive among the 4 choices... Ahaks..

the yummy, succulent, moist BBQ Ribs

taraa... tinggal tulang rangka purba... lol...

As for the dessert, it came with 2 choices... Bread Pudding or Chocolate Chip Cookie... Initially it was Strawberry Shortcake or Chocolate Chip Cookie... Both came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream... And whipped cream... But i felt that the bread pudding was a bit tooo sweeeetttt for me...

The Bread Pudding

This was only our second time here, the last time we came was way back in July 2009... These was we had then... Well, x sempat nak blog :)

Cajun Shrimp
- a perfect combination with the set meals as wasn't too heavy n reasonable...
- come along with the wonderful garlic bread.
- the taste was really yummy...

Strawberry Shortcake as Dessert

- the rest were similar...

All in all, i prefer the 1st time we went there... the service was better, and they paid more attention to us... We know we x contribute much but well, we're still customer... Maybe there wasn't enough staff as the long CNY holidays were approaching... But thanx goodness the foods were fine...

ps : thanx to my lovely hubs for the lovely dinner n for spending hs 'memorex' time...
Happy Anniversary.... lalallalaaa...

love this one...

D'One Steak, Bandar Baru Bangi...

Well, i found a new 'port' to lepak whenever i go back 2 my in law's place at Bandar Baru Bangi... It's a new place called D'One Steak... Basically it served Western... There are also items such as noodles n such... but since we don't fancy all that, we just head for the western... Banyak gak choices... With reasonable price :)

This place reminds us so much to Chop & Steak of Kg. Baru or fondly known as Rest. Kapal, located near Masjid Kg. Baru...

.
Location wise :
No 1, Jalan 6/7B, Bandar Baru Bangi...

- same row with Red Glow & TM point...
- below Azue Bridal...
- next to Taman Tasik / Kompleks PKNS
- Traffic light junction...

What we had :

Cheezy Fish - RM 10.50

somekind of pan fried fish... Covered with pancake batter.. I think the main reason they covered it with pancake is 2 avoid the fish from being 'smashed' during the cooking process.. Coz the fish is so lembut... My first impression was like 'ni ikan ke penkek?'... lol... it has slice cheese on top.. that's the reason it's called 'Cheezy Fish'... I tot cheesy la sgt... but ok la... not too heavy...

Scrambled Egg - RM 5.50

Macam nak breakfast sggt kan makan scrambled egg memalam buta ni... But it was really worth... The egg is really tasty, plus all the condiments : sausages, bread, coleslaw, etc...

Omelet - RM 5.50

Giant Juice Mango - RM 3.80, Teh ice - RM 1.80

I've seen giant mango juice before but hardly see teh ice of this size... lol... Sgt worth for teh ice lovers...

Oh ya.. ada free wifi lagi... Will definitely check this place out, in future... lallala...

Tetra House of Briyani, Bukit Tinggi

Had lunch at Tetra House of Briyani, Bukit Tinggi and decided to share...

Address :
No 10-00-01, Lorong Batu Nilam 4A, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, 41200 Klang, Selangor

Hp : +6016-922 1771
t/f : + 03-3324 2021

email : tetra@mail2caterers.com / jothi_airod@yahoo.com

Tetra House of Briyani is an Indian Restaurant... Despite the fact, the foods are all HALAL, not to worry. This is assured as they declared the supplier of chicken :

These are the buffet spread... All foods looked good.. The curry are so thick and spicy. The portion are big...

We came in the morning... At that time, they serve all the breakfast item such as Roti Canai, Capatti, Tosei and such... Besides the food variety at the buffet line, there are other ala carte item available according to the menu...

sneak preview of the menu
- the price is considered reasonable

their daily specilties...
- should've tried the vege chicken as i love vege food...

We ordered Chicken Briyani (RM9.00). My first impression was : OMG! great presentation... So authentic... Fyi, the chicken was 'hidden' underneath the rice... Main hide n seek plaks... LOL

So this the way it was supposed to be consumed :

Lift the rice container

Turn it upside down

Taraaaaaaaa

The taste is superb, as in the rice n chicken.. If u scrutinize the rice, it uses Beras Basmathi... The condition of the rice is really moist ( but not soggy), the portion of the chicken is considered big, the rice is a lot (to me la!) and the yogurt vege (the one like coleslaw) taste good too... I recommend this to be tried!!!

As for the drink, i had mango lassi... it's fresh and pure... love it!!!! Just have a looked at the 'foamy texture'... but if u don't fancy lassi / yoghurt, i suggest take something else as the variety of the drink are wide, too...

Another thing that's authentic here is the glass... If u order plain water, it'll come in an aluminium glass... the taste may be the same, but drinking from an aluminium glass simple gives a different feeling... hubs loved to consume water from it and we even have this type of glass at home..
